About US
The conference ‘ICOBTE & ICHMET 2025’, which brings together experts representing global academia and industry to discuss sustainability and ESG topics,
is scheduled to be held at BEXCO in Busan from September 22 to 26, 2025.
Through ‘ICOBTE & ICHMET 2025’, the latest research findings related to climate and environmental technologies, such as battery recycling, biodegradable plastics,
critical minerals, carbon-negative climate technology, and biochar-based CCUS, will be presented. In addition, innovative ESG strategies and evaluation methods will be introduced.
In collaboration with the city of Busan, we will also host the Festival SHIWOL, showcasing Korea's unique cultural charms to international participants. This provides participants of ‘ICOBTE & ICHMET 2025’
with the opportunity to experience Korea's diverse culture and exchange new ideas.

•영국 케임브리지대학교와 협업, CGI 한국 본부 설립
고려대학교 환경생태공학부 교수이자 국제ESG협회 회장으로, 리서치닷컴 선정 아시아 1위, 국내 1위 환경과학자다. 기후변화, 생물다양성, ESG(환경·사회·지배구조) 분야에서 다학제적 연구를 수행하며, 2019년 **환경생태 분야 한국인 최초 세계 상위 1% 연구자(HCR)**로 선정되었고, 2022년에는 환경생태·공학·생물학/생화학 3대 분야에서 HCR로 이름을 올렸다. 현재 국제학회 ISTEB 회장을 맡고 있으며, 스탠포드대학교 지속가능대학과 협력하여 전 세계 연구자들과 공동연구를 진행하고 있다.
ESG 경영과 지속가능성 연구를 기업 및 정책과 연결하는 데 주력하고 있으며, 신한 금융, 포스코, 삼성전자 등 주요 기업의 ESG 전략 강연 및 자문을 수행했다. 또한, 고려대학교 경영전문대학원에서 ‘비즈니스와 환경’ 강좌를 개설해 ESG 전문가를 양성하고 있으며, 국내 200대 기업의 ESG 평가 기준 및 방법을 확립하는 연구에도 기여하고 있다. 최근에는 국제 공동연구를 통해 바이오차(Biochar) 기반 기후 변화 저감기술 및 플라스틱 오염 해결 연구를 주도하고 있다.

Experts representing academia and industry from around the world will gather in one place
for an in-depth discussion on sustainability and ESG at the international conference 'ICOBTE & ICHMET 2025',
scheduled to be held from September 22 to 26, 2025,
at BEXCO in Busan.
Through 'ICOBTE & ICHMET 2025', the event will feature presentations on the latest research outcomes related to climate and environmental technology,
including battery recycling, biodegradable plastics, critical minerals, carbon-negative climate technologies,

In addition, in cooperation with the city of Busan,
